Students will investigate the importance of biosecurity in primary production and participate in a simulation to better understand the spread of diseases and the consequences for farmers.

Students will move the cattle to the yards utilising low stress animal management techniques. They will use technology to scan and record the weight of the calves and discuss why farmers need do this.

In the Dairy Demonstration Shed, students will explore how our dairy cow produces milk and are given the opportunity to interact closely with her.

Students will investigate our free-range poultry operation. They will participate in collecting the eggs, checking the welfare of the hens, and processing the eggs ready for sale.
Year Level: Early Years – Grade 2
Students observe and interact with a variety of farm animals, to identify their needs and how they are cared for. They investigate the purpose of the animals on the farm and identify their different features.

Students will visit and investigate the different features of the shearing shed and meet our sheep to better understand the shearing process. They will examine the wool from different breeds of sheep and explore its properties and uses.
